I may well do an Angel (or similar) remap at some point, so this is why I'm asking.
The 10bhp could easily have been achieved via an ecu remap (similar to, for example, the difference between a 160bhp seat ibiza td and a 150bhp seat leon).
Or, there could have been other work such as a bigger turbo and/or intercooler (which is the difference between the seat leon 150bhp and 130bhp).
If it's a 'remap' then I can't expect a higher Angel remap figure than those done on the 140bhp engine.
PS you may have guessed, I considered the Seats before seeing sense and ordering the Alfa!
Hi m8y! Great news you have the 147 with the JTD 16V..great choice
stick with it and you will love her when she finally arrives
With regards to the difference - its NOT a remap. It is a different set of injectors which give the engine a smoother pick up lower down in the rev range i.e below 1500. As it breaths better lower down, the power picks up quicker and thus the power is slightly higher.
Personally, I have not tried it yet as I cant go down the showroom asking for a test drive can I when I have no intention of buying one?? The same goes for the GTA for that matter too!
The 150 (which is essentially identical to the 140 bar the injectors) WILL be remapped with the 149 to 180ps (4X4) along with the strong possibility of a twin turbo version producing 210ps (also 4X4) which will be tried out in the VECTRA early next year.
I am saving my pennies for that! If I end up with one, I could remap it and get nearly 250ps and with that much power and torque, it will be faster than the GTA by far
