Considering getting a remap on my 2005 150 JTDM 156...Partly to smooth out the power delivery which may or may not increase mpg....oh, and it will gain about 30BHP, which will be useful
The car is a 150 Veloce, so already has the better suspension.
The exhaust is standard, but I may need to renew that soon.
I am considering a Cybox cat back system ( I had one on my previous 1.8TS, and it was very good on that engine, nice tone, not too loud, fine on motorway etc.)
Couple of questions ;
The current 'flexy' part of the front exhaust is leaking slightly, so ideally I should get that sorted first. Is that a big job (ie manifold off etc) or can it be done easily ? It is not blowing, just discoloured from a very slight leak.
Has anyone fitted a Cybox with a decat pipe on this model, and is this a good idea ? I understand that the cat is not an MOT requirement on a diesel engine?
If I get the remap done now, can it be easily 'retuned' when I get the new exhaust system on? Or does it have to be done again from scratch?
Apologies for all these questions, but this is all new to me ( diesel engines/turbos etc !)
Thanks in advance
