Went outside this morning and the car started fine with no code faults displayed "how mad is that" I think i made the code fault originally when i applied the hand break whilst driving and for reasons i cant thathom, on restart the car was imobilised, code light staying on and the engine symbol flashing. 12 hours later car starts with no faults. ive taken the engine cover off and checked all wires, connectors etc making sure injectors are matched to the loom and everything is fine. Test drove it again and engine is still down on power but seems to be on all four cylinders. Unplugged the MAP sensor and engine tone was different. Went to test drive with it of and car diddnt really get anywhere and stalled then displayed VDC failure and car went in to an imobilised state as before and wont start but will guarantee it will in the morning.
The only thing I can think is the timing but I was so thorough. Used tdc gauge, set the pointer correctly on the belt tensioner, all Alfa parts and rotated engine several times to re-check timing and was fine. If I was a tooth out the timing would be miles out and I would of seen it when I offered back the cam lock blocks. All new valves and cast guides were use in rebuild and cant really explain whats wrong? All i can really do is re-check timing, and do a compression test?????? mad!!
On the plus side the engine sounds sweet as a nut and ticks over well with no rattles or funny noises.
