I have been reading your comments & useful tips for a little while now & was hoping any of you can help as i seem to have a VERY sick Alfa.
Were do i start?
I brought the car a month ago and picked it up & all was well driving back until i got about a mile from home then the engine management light came on.
This still dint seem to affect the running so i thought it may be a loose connection of some sort, then a couple of days later i went to use the car ( from cold) and it was running Rough, i have had an alfa before so all i did was let it tick over for 5 mins then everything was fine but the management light was still on and didnt go off.
So i did a bit of checking on internet and found you guys & have been reading through the forums for quite a few hours, checking through it could be a few issues ie the MAF or THROTTLE BODY, THROTTLE BODY SENSOR, so i brought a second hand MAF & THROTTLE BODY got them changed at my local garage Then cleaned them as per instructions & even did the throttle reset, BUT still didnt solve the problem infact it made it worse changing the MAF & THROTTLE BODY.
Have now taken it to another garage and the have found a small hole in the oil filler cap and now have said it is more than likely crankcase pressure ( major Job & buckets of Money) , since i found this out ( only this morning)
I decide to come home and check on here & have found a post suggesting that racers put a hole in the filler cap to release pressure so maybe Alfa Not Dead yet
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated
