Hi Pete, I can't help with this I'm afraid- I think you'll just have to wade in and see how the thing works!! It does sound as if the alarm unit is the cause of your battery drain however and I'd go with your theory that the unit has taken on water
How integral it is with the remote locking/ immobilisation/ ECU etc, I don't know..

Pg 238-239 of the owners manual. Fuse #12 not only controls the Alarm system but also the
-Interior & glovebox lights
-Sound system

Check whether the glovebox/boot light switches off when you shut it. Or the sound system could be drawing current & draining the battery.
