This thread is not by way of advice or in need of advice, it is purely a way of me to vent my anger!!
So, my Mother has had her 156 1.9 Mjet for a few years, brilliant car! We remapped it so it (was) doing around 62mpg.....awesome for quite a quick car!!
A few months ago she gave me the car, my 156 ts is worse economy and she now has a 3.2 Brera! So, I was waiting at the shore of a flood, doing the will i wont i thing, (here it comes)!! After seeing some B*****D Peugeot 106 drive through no problem, i couldnt turn round, i just couldnt!!!!
Bend number 4 con rod!!!
The car has done about 100,00 so I rebuilt the engine, ok, bit of a bugger, but what the hell, if you can do it why not!!
Within 300 miles, after the engine being perfect after full rebuild the following has failed:
MAF sensor (plug) not the sensor!!!
Turbo oil seals (after 200 miles)
Split actuator hose
Fine for 50 miles then Turbo actuator itself
Had turbo rebuilt at 200 miles, all was fine, now driving home from work yesterday, its starts whining sounding like a knocked out alternator bearing. So took the inlet pipe off the turbo this morning and theres half a ton of play in the rotor! Oil feeds fine, rebuilt engine, oil a clear as mountain dew, new air filters ect ect!!!
Im not sure how easy these turbos are to recon. I think a new unit might be in order! The car has had new suspension, brakes, clutch, DMF, I cant give up on it now. Im sure the turbo is the last thing!!!
I HATE PEUGEOT'S, if only i knew who that person was who playing on my nautical instincts so much that i felt i had to take to the water in my CAR when i really needed a BOAT!!!
