Ok folks, (this may ruffle a few feathers...I certainly found it to be a shock) but WD40 is the devils sperm, and should be confined to garden tools. I recently helped an aircraft engineer do some routine maintenance and when I needed some spray on lube, innocently asked for the WD. His reaction surprised me; "no FU&KING WD 40 is ever used on any of my aircraft, it actively promotes the very problems it is supposed to prevent!! The only lubricant a decent mechanic/engineer should use is ACF 50, and if I catch you using a blue and yellow can here you'll get a slap!". As I understand it WD 40 effects are very temporary, and it rapidly becomes hydroscopic, actively ATTRACTING moisture. I found ACF 50 for sale on eBay and amazon, not the cheapest product, but then a small amount goes a long way. And it is for your Alfa! If you doubt me, find a pilot or engineer and ask them what lube is used on their aircraft... Their answer might surprise you too!
Happy, fully serviceable Alfas to you all!
