bilstein b6 or Koni yellow
Can I canvas some opinions please?
O have an Alfa 156 2.4 JTDm. About 5/6 years ago I had fitted bilstein b6 shocks to the front (and Eibach anti roll bars back and front). I stayed with standard springs and rear suspension. I did this because the car rolled horribly in corners and the under tray bottom out regularly on the smallest speed bump or dip in the road. The solution worked brilliantly and the car's handling was vastly improved.
At my last service, they noted the off-side front shock was starting to leak and would need replacing (MGC in Nottingham - top guys), but at the time they couldn't source one and as I was moving soon, I left it.
I'm now based in South Ruislip, Middlesex and I noted Alfaman in Rayners Lane was rated by several users on here, so checked them out. Alfaman (Eddie?) said that if I bought a new B6, he could fit it. But he also said he had some second hand Koni yellows with Koni red shocks available for £200 + fitting costs.
I know naff all about Koni shocks What do people think? Are they any good and is it worth the extra cost over just replacing one B6? The main extra cost is the additional work to fit both shocks; I can get one B6 for around £116. PS - the Konis were about 18 month old, reclaimed off a scrapped Alfa 156 1.9 jtd.
Any opinions welcome.
