GT Suspension

GT Cloverleaf Q2 170hp . I have owned my GT for 4 years now and love it. I have had it from new and have only covered 14k miles. The only thing that gets me thinking is the well known harsh suspension. I know there are many threads on this but I need to have an informed response on the following. Without going into the areas of handling ,cornering at speed etc the question is this. If I were to fit Bilstein B6 dampers to each corner would this improve the comfort as regards feedback from imperfections in the road surface eg potholes ,road joins etc .If not what would without lowering the car

I have lowered mine with eibach springs on standard suspension. not an ideal setup I know ....but even that is much better than standard, with regards to potholes.

No idea how good B6's are, but you might be best going for B4's which are an upgrade on OEM shocks. Personally if I was keeping standard height springs I'd go for FSD's or maybe Koni sport adjustables, at least then you can dial in your ride. My FSD's are working really well on my Gt with lowered springs so I can imagine they're even better on normal springs. I'm talking 80% erring on comfort but really good road holding too.

I'm in the same boat on my 'wagon, probably gonna get the whole suspension rebuilt, but as its got Nivomats on and as standard is a nice lowered height, I'm probably going to need sport pack or Eibach springs then I'll have up get dampers to match. Defo don't want it hard so at the minute Im thinking Koni sports kit or FSD's with sport pack or eibach springs. Would love to try B12 kit but my Wife drives the wagon mostly.

Bit off topic, but that's got to have cost you 70p/mile in depreciation alone!
