Wretched 147 squeaking

Sorry to bore you all rigid with yet another squeak story.

I have just bought my 2nd 147 - traded my 3 year old model
for new. The first model used to make a squeaking noise
on the drivers side. I learnt how to solve that - it ws the
rubbers around the drivers door. If I gave them a clean with
Autoglym's rubber care stuff and generally cleaned around the
door frames the noise would go away. I didn't mind as it prompted
me to wash the care every 2 weeks!

Now the new one is making a similar but louder noise. Nearly
always at low speeds, most noticable when the car is turning
to the left. It sounds like 2 pieces of plastic or rubber and plastic
or rubber and metal just rubbing against each other but I can be damned if I can loate it.

My real worry is that it is actually coming from the join between the
dashboard and something.

Am I being unlucky or do a high proportion of Alfa 147s make this
noise and what do you all do about it?

Any ideas? I would like to know how to solve it without
taking back to the dealer ...

Re: Wretched 147 squeaking

Where exactly is the squeak coming from? If its from the dash area - then the only option is to remove the whole instrument panel and sort out the mountings.
If its from the drivers door again, it might be from the door latch/striker interface.
