I've just purchased a Black Alfa Romeo 156 1.6L TS and it drives well. On my way home on the M11 I have discovered a couple of faults.
1: The Handbrake light will be on (bright) when I have the handbrake on, and when it's off, it can come on now and then (not as bright) and it will go out every so often. It seems intermittent. The brakes feel not too strong, compared to a Peugeot 107. I think they're fine as they do work when you push a little bit more, however if you pass a certain point, they are not as strong. Sorry if this makes no sense! I am guessing as it's a heavier car it may just be that.... I have check the brake fluid, and it seems full (I think).
2: The Airbag light is on! D: The man who sold it really did seem genuine and told me everything. It just came on as I went to test drive it and he said he might have knocked out the yellow cable when hoovering the car. I have checked and it's plugged in. Does it need resetting with an OBD reader after it's been unplugged and plugged back in. The yellow lead is defiantly plugged in, however the plastic housing around it is sort off a bit loose. I think that's because I can't figure out how to put the housing back in :P
Oh, also the temperature adjuster for the cabin temperature backlight doesn't work, nor does the cigarette lighter work. How do I replace the bulb/fuse? However for £575, I'm not complaining!
I would greatly appreciate some help!
Oh, P.S, where can I plug the OBD reader into the car?
