I have a 147, non Bose with the factory head unit and speakers. Obviously that's not the best, but I've noticed over the last few weeks that my stereo is much quieter than normal. It always defaults to 18 (from memory) when I first switch it on, and I have always turned it up to somewhere around volume 32.
Lately though, I've been having to turn it up to about 42 to get the same volume. If I turn it down any lower I can barely hear it!
I've messed around with all of the settings on the radio, but can't get it to sound any good at those volumes.
The only factors I can think of which may have caused this are:
1. I have removed and refitted the interior light so that I could install a Parrot microphone. When I had the light out, I did stumble across a small black 3 pin connector. As far as I'm aware, I didn't unplug this from anything but I might be wrong. I suspect this may have just been for the Connect Nav microphone in the light, although it may be for the auto volume microphone and that's why I can't hear the stereo properly!
2. I have removed and refitted the head unit a few times, although I doubt this has had any effect since everything is connected (mini ISOs, ISO connector and antenna).
So far I've reseated the connections, but just wondered if anyone has experienced this problem. It's getting really annoying having to crank the volume up to 42 before the sound is at a good volume!
Thanks in advance,
P.S. This should have gone into ICE & Blue&Me but I don't remember getting the option!
