JTS injectors cleaning
With 112.000 miles, still running on the original injectors, they should either be cleaned or even maybe changed.
Ultrasound cleaning + labor to remove/refit makes it around 300 Euros.
I've just came across an Indie garage not too far away from where I live, that has an equipment for closed-cycle injector cleaning. It is basically a big pump meant to send injector cleaning liquid directly to the injectors thru the fuel rail, and engine runs on that for about 1hr until liquid is gone. He would charge me 50 Euros.
I'm really interested in trying this operation since it is much more cheaper. I know it may not be as good, but it could save me some money.
As these guys are more used to Renault, Peugeot, mostly diesels, I'm almost sure they'll never have seen a 2.0 JTS engine bay before.
As I don't want them to ruin anything, could anyone tell me :
- is this a good idea or has anyone tried this before ?
- where should they be connecting their equipment ? I found the following diagram on EPER, is this the correct location (injection pump) ? I'm assuming where hose 1 connects to the pump is the correct location ?
