156 Selespeed Gearbox fault

I am buying a 2000 156 Selespeed which will not select gears, and am under the impression that it needs the actuator calibrated to the ECU, as the current owner has just changed the gear box?

Is it also true that the KKL OBDII cable will allow this and if so what is the best program to do this with, being FiatECUScan or AlfaDiag and where is the best place to get this?

Will the clutch rod need to be adjusted also, prior to calibration.

Yes you can calibrate the clutch with FES but I think you need to register it (50 euro).
Try to get one of the previous version of FES because the last one (V3.6.2) has a bug.

it depends on why it will not select gears, if it is eg a faulty sele pump changing the gearbox will achieve nothing. What was it actually doing, or more probably not doing?

You do not have to code the sele ECU to the car or anything, just plug it in and your away, but as said, you do need the paid up version of ECUscan to do certain sele routines.
