I used to use Toyo T1R's which were brilliant but they stopped selling in europe.

I now have found Bridgestone Potenza's and the grip in the wet is awesome, they just don't let go!

I Dont trust Michelin as I had a brand one disintegrate sending me sideways off the A38

As usual the local tyre fitters are limited on what they can order in. Especially if you only look at those that are able to do a proper re-seal with the good gunk

Best I can find that can be ordered locally (Exeter) is the Dunlop Fast Responses.

What's the verdict on those?

must point out to OP that having the grippiest tyres wet dry ,if your suspension is naff and geometry not good, you will have same grip of a naff tyre

I have the SP Sport Fast response on my Golf as well, they are the same size as on your 156.

Excellent tyres, and only 75 each from Black circles.

When looking for tyres in this size I found there wasn't much difference in price between mid range and premium tyres, so went for the premium ones.

Bridgestone Turanza ER300 were also on my shortlist, but they came in a bit more expensive.

I have lost 1mm from the tread on the front tyres after 5000 miles of driving on the Dunlops, so they wear well.
