I am wanting to replace my PAS fluid as i have had the car longer than 3 years,
fluid looks okay, (still red) and the fluid level is fine, she turns okay with no noise.
What is the correct procedure of draining, filling and bleeding the PAS system?
i have watched a few YouTube videos on some people doing just this but i don't agree on their method.
my plan of attack is to syringe out the old fluid in the resivoir and fill with new fluid, then undo the spiral cooler pipe behind the O/S fog light, (lowest pipe) and with the engine off turn from lock to lock until new fluid appears from the pipe (keep topping up as well). Then re-attach the pipe, turn engine on and lock to lock to get any air out.
Am i thinking right to stop air being drawn into the system to protect the seals? as some videos say just to turn engine on and turn lock to lock until old fluid is all drained out, then add new fluid.
any tips or comments much helpful
