Help Selespeed not changing gears, leaking fluid. HELP!

I have another problem with my 147 Sele! Whilst driving this evening I had Selespeed failure wwhilst in 4th gear, wouldn't let me shift up of down. Pulled over and couldn't even select neutral. Sat for almost an hour, disconecting battery and hoping for a reset. Then had a flashing netural but obviously unable to start at that point. Pump was priming every 5 seconds and a strange noise was coming from the actuator. Is this possible its losing pressure? I have noticed sele fluid leaking on the floor for a week or so now. Battery eventually went dead and had to abandon the car until I can get a breakdown truck there. If anyone can advise or knows a good mechanic in the Reading area would be muchly appreciated!

So why did you continue to drive it, mate?

Would it not have been better to sort it when you first noticed it leaking fluid?

Just curious and not having a go...just seems strange to carry on driving it, they don't fix themselves.

Get the hydralic pressure diagnosed. It's probably losing pressure because the accumulator is not working. The pump is compensating and the preesure rises beyond the limits, hence the leaking. Get it sorted asap, or the pump will wear out too.
