The car initially dropped out of 2nd while driving, but rather than N being displayed the 2 was flashing instead. The pump kept running and the actuator was trying to stick the car into gear, so in the interests of not burning the pump out I popped one of the selespeed fuses out. Putting the fuse back in temporarily gave me 2, 4 and R, which was handy for getting it on the RAC truck. Back home, the car won't select any gears with the N flashing.
I've plugged in the laptop with FiatECU scan, and found no errors
. Not sure what I was looking for beyond that, I looked at Hydraulic circuit pressure which maxs out at 54.8 bar, drops to 44.4 bar (without gear changes), pump runs and it's back up to 54.8. So I guess my accumulator is shot, but would that cause a total failure like this? Sele fluid is ok halfway between min and max.
Any ideas? Anything else I should check?
Looking at the clutch pushrod adjustment threads, on FES I should be looking at the Clutch pressure plate travel??? That is at 10.3mm, some way off the 28mm it should be if it is what I think it is. Surely it can't get that far out instantly can it? Could it be a dodgy sensor?
