156 Windscreen Wipers Shudder

First post for me, I have just bought a 2005 Alfa 156 and I got it with bad wiper blades because they shuddered across the windscreen, so I replaced with new wiper blades and thought it fixed the issue, but the wipers continued to shudder. So I replaced the wipers again with the modern flexible wipers and they stopped shuddering on the passanger side but the drivers side continued. I have bent the arms to try and make the blades have better contact with windscreen but still no luck.

I have spoken to some alfa mechanics and they say it could be the windscreen or the windscreen motor. A replacement windscreen or windscreen motor will be costly.

Has anyone else had a similar issues and know how to fix it.

Autoglym glass polish.
Also used "Rain X 2 in 1 Rain repellent and Glass Cleaner" for a few years and happy with that.

I have had the same problem with just about ever Fiat/ Alfa I have owned. To cure the problem I took the wiper motor and linkage off the car, stripped it all down cleaned and greased all moving parts, job sorted. On a scale of 1 to 10 for difficulty the job rates at about a 2.

+1 to all the three solutions above

To keep it all tip, top and prevent it happening again, get a clean cloth and dampen it with some silicon lubricant spray. Rub it onto the rubber of the blades, leave for one minute and then dry off the excess so it doesn't smear the screen.
No Judder, no screech and watch the beads of water simply drift of the screen upwards!
repeat this 60 second task every month and you won't have the problem again.
Simple and inexpensive, I like cheap!
