Desperate need - cam position sensor
Alfa 147 1.6TS. Cam position sensor. Bosch part number 0 232 101 035
Really desperate as while changing the cam belt I have managed to damage the cam position sensor. No notice on any of the instructions the exhaust cam spanner spigots are long enough to go through the sprocket and hit the sensor - bugger. And as for tracing the lead from the sensor to get that free of all the clips it goes through what a nightmare!
Added to that that one of the water pump allen bolts rounded out (yes I use expensive allen sockets) and I had to weld (thank god for my mig welder) a bolt to the head of the rounded one and then use that to remove the damaged one so it hasn't been a great start to my first (last?) cambet change on a TS.
Actually I don't know who did the belt last time but whoever it was has tightened all the bolts on everything so tight I am surprised that he didn't strip any threads and no it's not due to thread-lock as the threads, when undone, are clean.
Anyway desperate for a cam position sensor within driving distance of Swindon tomorrow 75 miles each way or 150 mile round trip - company car makes travel cheap. I really want this back together again for my son who starts full time work on Monday!
