I'm finding out the hard way that the level of attention a GT JTD takes is considerable. The enginer is strong, but everything else can be a money-pit once you are the far side of 100k. The last three years have cost me a lot more than I had anticipated.
I don't think this is even that cheap for a GT with the kind of faults listed. A properly rebuilt turbo plus fitting is going to cost a lot more than £300! Besides, it's poor oil quality that kills turbo, so has the oil change schedule been adhered to? We've seen elsewhere that other faults have been ignored: door handle and seat cable. These may well be common faults, but why wouldn't you just fix these before selling instead of taking a bigger hit on the sale price? Answer because the seat has to come out, real pain of a job to do and obviously the owner does not feel it is worth it.
At 160k injectors may well be questionable, but of course if the seller has stated the turbo is shot so any smoke, noises or rough running could perhaps be passed off as turbo problems...
I'm starting to think the above relates less to your thread and more to my personal woes lol
