GT WK5 + 1k Miles & All Is Well ...Panic Over : What Do I Keep Eye On?
Ok....stopped flapping now and hyperventilating every time I kook at new GT problem threads....Nightmares involving over zealous mechanics rubbing their hands together have finally abated. Only analogy I can think off is when you have a new sore bit of internal body parts and you surf the web with the symptoms. Before you know it you have an advanced stage of a scary disease and you are updating your "things you need to know when I die" word document. As winter not far away I would appreciate any feedback from GT owners on simple checks I need to make to avoid potential issues. I am aware of the biggies like cambelt & water pump but not quite sure at what intervals these need replaced as there appears to be some variation on the many threads covering the subject. I am on 91K now and last job was done at 64.5K. Pleased to say that I have currently no squeaks or rattles apart from the intermittant grinding clutch pedal which I can live with now and a squeaky leather driver seat. I am aware of inner rear tyre wear and again thanks to the site and I will shortly attend to tracking and have bushes checked.....Other than that I am one happy bunny , I have learned to live with the stone chips as well (now matching colour stone chips) ....any feedback on preventative maintenance greatly appreciated....
