Starting lumpy! Very weird.
On a tangent from my other thread (and not intentionally meaning to e-rape the forum) I had a problem with my 156 2.5 the other week whereby at around 3-4k revs it would suddenly lose power and make a puffing noise. I left it for a couple of days and on friday morning I went to take it to a garage to diagnose it and it would start, but very very lumpy and if I touched the throttle it would struggle and choke. Others said it sounded like a MAF or crank sensor issue. Called the AA home start and he couldn't do anything (shock), plugged it in and no fault codes at all, took the spark plugs out one by one and seemed to show it was only running on 2 on the rear bank, but then read a black cable and said there was no resistance, which should be around 900 or so, and claimed this was the crank position sensor. Bought a new one and currently attempting to fit it, but wondering what other people think of the issue? Seen other people post about blocked exhaust/cat and split hoses etc. I did think I had a slight exhaust blow a little while ago but may just have been a symptom of this, hasn't felt like its been running at full power for a while.
