Air con please?

My 156 JTS air con stinks like an old wet dog when it's initially switched on at 1st , eventually it settles , but really what a stink , spent ages cleaning the interior / leather etc , and was gutted when I realised its from the air con , any ideas on how to 'cure' it ? Recharge ? or pollen filter ? On a 2004 facelift version , would the filter be under glovebox area ?, cheers

Pollen filters (they come as two small ones).
Yes, under the glovebox area.

It is often caused by mould in the heat exchanger....
You can buy special spraycans to fix this, see f.i.

I use a real easy remedy on my Dearests machine with the cheapest of outlays cash wise. Pollen filter out, give it a good blast of compressed air, same for the condenser then spray both with Dettol 99.9% bug killer disinfectant spray,( Spring Waterfall flavour ) run the system with the fan on, job done!

Used that method for four years of ownership. : So if some say that will not work, or that's wrong because, well it does for us.

when mine started smelling i just got some of this it's dead easy turn the aircon on max turn the recirculation on then stand the can on the floor in the back of the car open it up then just leave it to circulate for 10-15 mins job done no more smell.
