Ice cold AC
It's getting to that time of year here where it's starting to get a wee bit hot........40degC today.
I'd noticed the AC was not coping too well so I thought I should refit my dash top cover.
This is basically a shaped cover made from thin nylon carpet type stuff. They are very common here and are designed to preserve the dash top during the extreme heat and sun light. I normally take it off during the cooler weather as it's not exactly in keeping with the beautiful interior.
Anyway, after fitting I noticed the AC was blowing ice cold again even during mid day today. I’d noticed this previously when fitting the cover but had thought it was more my imagination that reality but now I’m certain.
The cover lies on top of the dash and is tucked down between the windscreen and dash to hold it in place.
Anyone got any ideas as to why the AC should blow so much colder with it fitted.
I always use the recirculation and wonder if this setting pulls the air from the bottom of the windscreen area.
