I seem to be able to hear a slight misfire on your engine.
I ahve a few suggestions and a few questions.
- Have you changed your sparkplugs at all?
- Have you ever done ultrasonic injector cleaning? It might be a good idea.
- You need to check if you have vacum leaks in the manifold, intake runners, induction piple.
I would suggest you pressure test them.
Burned valeves and scenarios like that would be valid for an engine that has run incorrectly for long time or have been remapped with lean fueling/crazy ignition timing or have overheated in the past, if your engine you know has run correct without issues and hasn't been remapped then there is no reason to have real engine issues.
My money is on air leak due to re-use of lod gaskets etc.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look.
The car has only done 35,000 miles so I don't think the plugs will have been changed yet, as I have mentioned in my previous posts the engine seemed to be running fine until my water pump started whining so i got the belt etc changed and its been rough since then.
It does feel a little more torqy than it did before and the Garage that changed the belt said the timing was a little advanced.
Using old gaskets might make sense tho as the belt was only changed 2 years and around 6,000 miles prior to the water pump cracking and the garage knew this so maybe they didn't change that as they might of thought it was ok.
They had the car for a week and did loads of tests and rechecked timing but couldn't find the cause.
Might try and take it for a second opinion however I don't have the money to spend on it at the moment especially if I get it back and they haven't fixed the cause and still end up charging me labour for looking!
Frustrating, however other than that it drives fine so I may just have to leave it for a while.
