Re: LSD on a 147 (No I am not on Drugs)
Thanks for the advice guys, but I think you need to put a towbar on your motor and pull a caravan across a wet/muddy field to fully appreciate why I could do with a LSD.
When your pulling a ton along from standstill across a field the inside wheel with the least grip will loose traction almost immediatly. When you loose 1, your stuck as the other has no power going to it. No rubber compound will ever help this. With having an LSD, the inside wheel will still slip but the other will assist it, thus giving you TWICE the chance of getting out.
Do not get me wrong, I am not trying to pull the van out in really muddy situations, as thats the job of a 4X4, but I occasionally need the extra traction on wet fields.
As for the tarmac solo driving, again, no tyre will stop the inside tyre from scrabbling with 140+ BHP, where as an LSD would make a massive difference. Tyres do help, but not considerably when you're talking of crappy FWD and a highish performance engine.
