Converting manual to selespeed

I was thinking about keeping a manual gearbox as a spare. Is it possible to just interchange the selector shaft without any other modifications?

I don't think so, because the clutch release mechanism is different...the Selespeed effectively uses a box with an external slve cylinder, whereas the manual has a slave cylinder mounted inside the bell housing. You might be able to swap the selector shafts, but I think you'd effectively be stripping the gearbox anyway.....

Think he means converting a spare manual gearbox into a spare Selespeed gearbox.

Other than the actuator shaft, the biggest issue will probably be that the casing is different.
(ie nowhere to bolt the actuator to and nowhere to put the input shaft sensor)
