Seat cable snapped, now both seats dont fold forward,! Now its a two seater!!

GT JTD 2007

Hi all,
When i bought my GT, the passenger never folded, but managed ok with drivers side working. But the other weekend I put a lot a pressure on the seat when i was cleaning the back seats. Anyway long and short of is that (it appears) the cables both strayed and snapped near the latch.

My mechanic (non alfa speccilaist) is going to be looking at this along with a few other issues. My questions are:
- How big a job is it?
- Does my mechanic have to be wary about the sensors (air bag)
- How much are the cables? Are they readily availible?
- How much labour involved? He seems to think its straight forward but im not sure it is?
- Should i attempt myself rather than risk potentially stupidly high labour costs?

It's a relatively easy job but time consuming.
There's a good guide on here but read it all there is no need to be as thorough as the first poster states. Take the seats out of the car and work in them somewhere more comfortable. I fixed mine in the living room. Read further down the guide and another poster explains how to use the old cable to pull the new one through.
Took me about 2 hours for one seat and sure a mechanic will be roughly the same so 4 hours labour. Cables are usually available at main dealers.
