147 T Spark Lusso totally dead

Had gear linkages repaired but car was sitting on driveway for 6 weeks without being used , was towed to garage for the linkages repair but mechanic then said it would'nt start, thought the battery might be dead but he said he tried that and wont accept any responsibility for it not starting as he never turned it over.

There are no lights , nothing, car totally dead, could it be a main fuse or does anyone have any other ideas, don't want to waste 50 in someone coming to give it a diagnostic check to tell me its a fuse

Does it turn over? Did it turn over before he had it???

How the hell can he check he's done the gear linkages properly without test driving it???

If not i'd put money on he's disconnected something he shouldn't have or hasn't put it back!

I'd steer well clear of that cowboy in the future ...

check for 12v at the battery there is a good chance the battery is flat as a fart after six weeks , failing that i have had to replace the ignition switch on mine because of lack of power

If gear linkages have been fiddled with then it might be an earth strap not connected to the gearbox.

well it turned out that the battery was finished , RAC ran a check and told me had to get a new one , not sure what happened to the old one as thought it would just need recharging but it wouldnt hold a charge after 45 min after being jump started

Once a battery has stood flat for a while there tend to be irreversible chemical changes within the battery that basically mean its had it.....

But I agree that the mechanic who did the linkages sounds like a complete muppet.......
