147 Wiper Linkages - Plastic Snap

Hello all,
My 147 has decided it doesn't like rain and thus has decided to snap the plastic arm that the metal rod from one fixed linkage to the next.

Having read a few previous posts this looks like a common problem of weak plastic design.
It must have gone at some other point as there has been a repair thats probably worked in the past but now its failed again.

So do I just bite the bullet and buy a complete new linkage system and put up with the possibility of it going again in the future?
Or is there a better design out there or an updated linkage repair I could get my hands on?

Any help is greatly received

there is an updated design where those bits are now metal, although the old plastic ones are still available so be sure which one you order.
