After my load cover self destructed I couldnt find and repair/spares kits so decided to have a go my self and it worked
So here what I did
The retaining lugs had snapped of this plug cap thing which popped out so the internal spring unwund.
I then drilled a hole through the cap and then used an old bike spoke to poke through creating new stronger lugs.
Then once you have trimmed to length you sould be able to slot these new lugs back in to the metal end plate of the load cover twist in to place to lock.
Now that this fits unscrew the cap so it pops out and turn it while its connected to the shaft sticking out, this will then tighten the spring up,It is very stiff but keep going until you are happy with the tension. Puch the cap back in and twist in place and no the cover should retract like it did before
Now that will save you having to buy a whole new cover.
