Do I need to get my cambelt done?

I bought my Gt last week. It has 55k on it. The cambelt was last done in January 2009 at 51k. The problem is the car has been off the road pretty much for the last 2 years and therefore I don't know if I should get it done just in case. I also wasn't sure if I took it to a garage whether they would be able to tell what condition it's in?

Belts are notoriously difficult to guage their condition generally. Unless a few of the teeth are missing etc.
However when they go they seriously go.

The belt more than likely would be ok. But for peace of mind it would be worth changing it. Along with all the fluids in the car to ensure its ready to drive.

Chances are it will be ok if not stood for to long. But depends how much you'd like peace of mind.
