Realising I am new to this forum & not total familiar many other sections only this one relating to 156's I have an observation.
Alot of people post the same sort of topics here time & time again
Other forums I have frequented in the past have Sticky Threads
which contain useful information common to many people. These sticky thread will always be the 1st thread that can be viewed, no matter when the last post was entered.
New people come to this site either to give/get opinions of a car they wish to buy or, as in most cases, to obtain info in order to get their beloved AR back to full health or improve *weak* areas.
Common, imo, topics are:
1. MAF/AFM sensor causing lack of power, high fuel consumsion
1-a. Sensor diagnostic
2. In-correct running issues, or not running at all
3. How to get their suspension to stop squeaking
4. Brake related suggestions, either how to improve the standard setup or upgrade info.
5. Heater-A/c issues: such as fogging windows
6. EOBD related topics: Examiner s/w & connectors
In my 2 months here I have asked & replied to many topics & now i see the same type of questions been asked. I can only imagine how the long term members here must feels about been asked *where to find the pollen filter of a 156* for the 200th time.
Many, myself included, under use the SEARCH function. But in fairness even when you do there are so many fragmented threads on *pollen* filters for example, that you have to read many posts to obtain the info you require.
So to summaries, even if *sticky threads* was only started today, & a few people posted to those threads it would get the ball rolling.
There is alot of great information here, lets try maximise it for all concerned. I would be willing to do some of the topics nearest to my heart......
Also, if i'm way off the mark here i apologise
