I need a quick answer about the 156 JTD 1.9

I am thinking of buying a 156 JTD 1.9 115 bhp and I want to know first how often the timing belt needs done? Help pls?

Yes the manual says 72k but most people go for 60k, the 8 /10 valve doesnt suffer the same problems with the water pumps as the 16/20 valve engines but it is still recommended to change it along with the tensioner and idler pulleys.

Waterpumps for the 8v or 10v can be had from Eurocarparts from around 18 and they have metal impellors not the plastic "i want to spin off" variety. Always fit a new waterpump.
