Thanks Johns159, i know what you mean about the switches. Ive tried covering them with wrap and also spraying them but they both didnt give me the finish that i was happy with.....im still racking my brains to see if i can come up with a solution for that one.
Yes the handle stays on fine, the handle sits in the door card and the Allen bolts then go through the handle into the door.
Well i got the material from a bike shop that made me the motorcycle seat cover,im sure you can get the same material off ebay, its like a fake leather.
Thanks Evel,i did buy a pair of those covers from ebay but sent them straight back as i thought they didnt look good once in place.
Yes the join is down the back but i did it in a way that you cannot see it unless you really look behind the handle. I put a small strip of black insulation tape covering the whole length of the join to really smooth it out and hide the seam, you can feel it but only slightly i really dont think anybody would notice it to think that the handles wernt already fitted at the factory like that.
To be fair i dont think its really that necessary to buy new ones as long as you dont damage it to much as once you get the cover on it may not look totaly smooth if lumps have been taken out of it when removing. Theres is a clip on the back which i removed before refitting as it is easier to get in and out without it in place.
Haha let me think about your proposal a little while.....
