147 Air Intake/Exhaust suggestions.
Hi all, This is my first post here been a member for some time however.
Anyway I finally bought a 147 2.0 TS (2001) a few months back and been loving it. It just failed its MOT on a rear shock which has now been fixed. It also have 1 Advisory of the rear silencer seriously worn. i.e. I can put my fingers through it :P
So Im looking for a replacement rear silencer preferably stainless and after browsing this forum it seems most people are going for a supersprint. Is this really worth £350/£400.
I would like to change the sound to a more raspy noise but isnt this achieved by removing the center section to a straight through pipe?
Also im looking into getting an induction kit just purely for sound and not performance gains so Is the BMC CDA the best one to go for? I dont want it too loud as I dont think the neighbours will appreciate it.
So options are...
1) Replace rear silencer with a OEM one £66
2) Replace rear silencer with a supersprint one £350/£400
3) Replace rear silencer with a supersprint one and remove middle silencer £450/£500
4) Replace rear silencer with a supersprint one and remove middle silencer and replace air intake with BMC CDA £650/£700
Im open to suggestions as I said I really want a raspy sound but dont fancy forking out nearly £700.
