At the risk of being flamed.... But I am just passing on an observation from a unique perspective that I have at my work place... But i'm sure you will all see the picture
I will never, ever understand the "obsession" that so many Alfa owners have with buying Vpower and other comparitive make of fuels...
Be it petrol or diesel... All Alfa's will run quiet happily on any fuel just like every other vehicle on the roads, they require nothing special. There is a set quality standard for that very reason.
Lets take diesel as an example though:
A fleet of Fiat Doblo. 1.9 JTD's, Vauxhall Astra CDTi's (the same engines) prove this when we use fuel via Keyfuels) from any fuel pump from any brand in the country...
But for some "strange"
reason this fleet of 900+ vehicles (310 Doblo's) that VOSA use never seem to suffer the same running issues that JTD private owners seem to suffer????
Things like MCSF, EGR, MAP sensor fuel Injector and black smoke/ performance problems to name but a few... Yet so many owners seem to think that the likes of V power is to answer to all an Alfa's ailments
Well all I can tell you from experience and observation is that our entire fleet of 1.9JTD's are serviced regularly due to the mileage they do, it's usually every 8 to 12 weeks with a new fuel and oil filter fitted as a matter of routine... Not one and I really do mean, not one suffer any of the above fuel related problems.
It may be down to the regular servicing or it might be the fact that these vehicles are constantly being used at constant speeds every day.... So no carbon build up (even from inferior fuels)
So no short runs to work where the engine barly gets up to optimum temperature then left for 8 hours then repeat the process home....
And some alfa owners wonder why they have issues and need to turn to "wonder fuels"
Hmmm... Like I said....It's just a view and mere observation of what I see
