Alfa romeo 147

rpm too high?

Hi, i need some help since im not a mechanic myself, but i made a track drive today
and i think my rpm goes totaly wrong, i got 6000rpm at 110miles...

and on a 4th gear it goes like 2500rpm at 40miles/h

My car is 2002 alfa romeo 147 lusso 1,6 120bhp.

Any ideas how to solw this? or atleast whats wrong to it? thx alot.

It is what is it is! You can only change it by changing the gearbox or final drive ratios. Clutch slip can cause it to rev higher in the gears as well but like David said yours is working as advertised.
