My oil consumption is about average for a twinny, so I'm thinking it may be gearbox oil rather than engine oil. At a main dealer service about a year ago it was noticed, but they reckoned the oil level in the gearbox was OK. I do 2 oil changes in between services but am careful not to spill any down the side of the engine. The oil has obviously spread around a bit but seems to be mainly in the vicinity of the bottom of the clutch bell housing area. Bearing in mind I have the Selespeed (if that makes any difference in terms of access), how do I go about checking the level?
As far as i know the Selespeed fluid level is in the engine bay... Mine is a Selespeed and it is located on the right side behind and to the right of the the batterry/fuse box ... it has a silly sort of diagram or a gearstick... unscrew the top and it has a level indicator in there... Good Luck...
