Throttle Position Sensor

I have been having trouble with perfomance recently in particular pulling away the car just bogs down, and will not accelerate smoothly.
The diagnostic machine reports throttle position sensor out of upper limits.
I am told I need to replace the Throttle Position Sensor and that its 283 + vat.
Has anybody else had this and if so do you know if I can get a new one cheaper.

Re: Throttle Position Sensor

No idea about the price, but I think I read somewhere there are two throttle sensors. Their readings should be in +-3% range, so that ECU considers them as acurate. If the difference is greater, this is evaluated by ECU as error and the engine acts as you describe.
