156 engine swap to cf3

I've ran into a problem i hope someone in here can help with, my engine in my 98 alfa 156 broke down (valves hit piston ) there where marks on the cylinder wall and the top was broken too, so i got another cf3 engine, not cf2 as it should have been. I replaced the engine and uses all the old sensors manifolds etc. the head and block with internals were the "only" parts i replaced. but now there seems to be something wrong, the engine turns on fine, but wont idle regular, when it is revved a litle to 2000-4000 rpms it seems to be fine. no engine lights turn on, have i missed something? or is it not possible to swap a cf2 with a cf3 like this?

best regards
