I just got back from testing a 2.4jtdM having temporarily fixed this fault on cylinder 1. Misfire had gotten worse over the past few days; read the fault code and got 0201. Injector read same resistance as the others. The wiring checked OK back to the ECU plug, no open cct and no short to ground or to other cores. Started to get worried about cost of ECU!
There is pink clip on each connector that can be pushed off to reveal the outer sides of the metal contacts that reside within. I found that I could just poke a piece of locking wire through a gap in the outer sides to push the inner contact part closer towards the centre of the plug.
I drove about 20 miles and the fault did not reoccur, but I will now get 5 of these kits to do the job properly.
