Whats the best way to disconnect the battery.

156 1.9 JTD 2004

Probably a daft question - but I've found disconnecting / reconnecting the battery sometimes sets of a malfunction alert on my comp display. Is there a right way or wrong way? I tend to disconnect the negative terminal first.

Any thoughts?

remove negative first.

means that anything you touch or do nothing will be able to discharge or short out as there is no ground to short to, hence as said above no sparks or nothing

Always negative first for me too ..

I've never had an error message pop up so maybe there's something else at fault with your car.
