156 sportwagon rear suspension 60 66 81 86

Hi all, having recently had a tow bar fitted to my 156 sportwagon (2.4 jtd) i have noticed with 4 people in car the tow bar bottoms out and hits the ground on exit of speed bumps and the like.

Having looked into rear shocks i have decided to go for Bilsten B4 shocks ( unsure of springs yet??)

The part number on my rear shocks is 60 66 81 86 think from memory says pro sport.

Is the part number stated Nivomat suspension?

I have springs on the rear, but was under the impression nivomats are self contained and doesnt require springs???

The back looks very low now i doubt will be able to tow jet ski plus 4 up in the car without bottoming out everywhere!

Would anyone be able to tell me weather the part number indicates nivomat or not?

thanks in advance

Yes, these are Nivomats. You'll need shocks, springs and top mounts from a sportpack or Veloce saloon to get the correct ride height when unladen. Sounds like you're often towing and fully laden so standard Sportwagon parts might be better for you, at the price of a slightly high ride height when empty.
