I posted this already in a different thread but needed some advice.
Basically the missus (and I for that matter) are sick and tired of the car going to the mechanics every 5mins for a whatever reason which are usually serious.
Today I went to the mechanic who is doing the suspension (AGAIN!!!!) and asked him if he could take a look at it, he said he couldnt but just 2mins up the road was a Bosch diesel specialist. So I got in the car and went.
Brought it to the guy and explained the stalling problem, he disconnected the injectors and placed 5 tubes onto which led into 5 cups which then showed a normal flow so the injectors were fine.
Next he went and checked the pressure from the fuel pump, all ok. So then he said it was either the fuel filter or more than likely the pump has worn out. Of course being stupidly optimistic I prayed for the filter to be the cause and then he checked the pressure going through that which was the same as the fuel pump so the filter is fine and hence that leaves me with a knackered HP pump.
Now I've looked around the internet and they are demanding crazy money for these things and I want to get it done as cheaply as possible (
) do any of the diesel HP pumps from a 156 fit each other? or is it a case that only the 2.4 will fit a 2.4?
Even when I look back at this post now and realise that its coming to an end I want to kill myself as I'm so close but I just cant afford this anymore
On Friday the suspension will be changed and then I'm taking it off the road and I'm going to have to put it up for either spares or repairs... Failing that it will have to be scrapped
