I've got a lovely 51 plate metallic red (maroon?) 156 sat on the drive tonight.
Its a courtesy from SimplyAlfas, I think all their stickered cars were out, so I had one off the forecourt.
When Colin brought it over for me, I checked the back and saw the 1.6 badge and I'm afraid to say I scoffed. Yes, I know I drive a tractor engined Alfa normally so have no room to scoff, but I did. Shame on me. I asked Colin if it actually moved with such a small engine in the size of car, he just smiled at me knowingly.
20 miles later, I had a big grin on my face. Followed the Hagley Rd to the M5, then off at the M6 junction, then through Great Barr and into Sutton.
Really, really like it.
Revs really well, has a great sound, is more responsive in the steering than the 159, if a little less refined.
It has a funny resonating noise at exactly 2800rpm, sounds like a heat shield or such.
A lovely car all round, will make me smile to and from work tomorrow.
Another Alfa to tick off the "must drive" list.
