Upper Wishbones (or track control arm if you like)

What test can I do, without taking them out to have a look, to check to see if they're on their way out?

Getting a shocking creaking noise practically all the time now, but it's not the lower wishbones, nor the arb as they've been checked.

Before I go out and buy some new ones to fit I wanna be sure.

My GT creaks (and knocks but that is something else). I believe it to be the upper wishbones. They are quite cheap so I have just bought a pair to fit anyway

Not much you can do without removing the arm or disconnecting the ball joint .. .until they are free to move you won't feel much.

You could give them a good spray with something ... even water ... to act as a lubricant to see if the squeaks go ... it's odd how after a good rain, the top arms don't squeak ..

But once they start to squeak, the only real option is replacements.

silicone spray helps, but it does eventually wear off, when it comes to replacement, silicone grease is the stuff the spread over the rubber bits to stop them squeaking, only 2 or so off ebay.
