OK there are a few things to do in order to pass the MOT well my friend and me spotted yesterday.
N/S CV boots (it has two on this end ... both split and need to be replaced).
Both top arms (N/S, O/S) have play I assume the previous person replaced them with used ones just to pass the MOT.
The front anti-roll bar bushes if I name this correct which is at the rear of the front end ... close to the footwell of drive and passenger need to be replaced, but as my friend pointed out this would be a pig of a job as they requite front subframe out etc...
And finally ... a stabiliser rod on the top side of the engine that mounts on the top of the shock in the engine bay that is on the O/S the rubber is totally perished.
The rear O/S shock absorber will need to be replaced as well... as it seems it had better days and I do not want it to have the luck of the one I replaced.
One more thing... the engine seems to cutout once it reaches 3900rpm or 4000rpm ... that is only when it drives regardless speed or gear selected. Feels like the limiter goes on or something.
If I accelerate when it is in neutral and stationaty it will happily go up to 5.000 close to the red zone with no problems
