Just got car back from indy

Dropped it in yesterday.
Work done.

Rear stub axle bushes replaced
Front left upper wishbone replaced
Rear pads replaced
Brake fluid replaced
Handbrake adjusted
Throttle valve cleaned and ECU reset for erratic idle

The stub bushes were completely fcuked when they came out. The balljoint in the wishbone was also in a bad way and it was also giving that squeak over bumps etc.

I supplied the pads & stub axle bushes. Total cost with VAT was 250 which I thought was good considering it was in for 3 hrs.

Car handling now much improved and feels a lot more solid over the bumps.

The car has 55k miles on it and I was surprised looking back through the 5 yr service history that neither front or rear pads have never been replaced. The rear ones still had another 1-2mm left on them but teh fronts look like they have another 20k on them. I can't believe the fronts have lasted this long. Has anybody else noticed this longetivity out of the pads?

Re: Just got car back from indy

I can't remember exactly when mine fronts were changed, but it is well over four years ago and must have been around the 50K mark. Car now has 91K on clock and plenty of meat left on pads when I looked a couple of weeks ago. I do tend to use the gears to slow though ... which might help.
